Let’s talk about meeee for once.

Justin H.K. (lil’ ol’ me) just won’t shut up about death. So, he’s been forced to release another album, even though he definitely just released one. “A Dead Man.” carries on the themes of “You’ll Be Dead” with lyrics focusing on mortality, mundanity, and masculinity. Musically, it attempts to bring the rawness of “DIRT” to the more produced style of “You’ll Be Dead.”
“A Dead Man.” will be arriving at your doorstep (but mostly all streaming services) on 3/3, and it will be preceded by the single “Broken Bottle Kids” arriving 2/24. “Broken Bottle Kids” is a vocal forward folk-rock track. Its music and lyrics capture the angst of youth and fear of aging, with simple guitar and banjo, wailing harmonica, and a booming and hypnotic rhythm section.
“A Dead Man.” effectively wraps up a small saga, probably being the last album specifically focused on death for a while, as well as being the last album with a number songs featured in my book “Stupid Shit: Adapted Lyrics and Poems” (by Justin H.K. which you can buy here and read more about here) . Finally, it’s possibly the final Justin H.K. album recorded in my current in house studio, before I build out the barn.

Broken Bottle Kids
Broken bottle kids
We keep our pocket knives hid
Once it’s in the air
It’s always coming down
Your tires we will tear
If you near our lair
Once it’s in the air
It’s always coming down
Gravity will take you to the ground
And shatter you into pieces
Never to be found
Gravity will take you to the ground
And shatter you into pieces
Never to be found
‘Cause once it’s in the air
It’s always coming down
Once it’s in the air
It’s always coming down
Once it’s in the air
It’s always coming down
Once it’s in the air
It’s always coming down
