The Magician, Reversed, Announced

Been doing some tarot. Been doing some recording. Am currently doing announcing. The Magician, Reversed will cast spells upon your ears wherever you listen March 19th.

The Magician, Reversed takes a quieter approach than my previous album Headroom with more inspiration from ambient and folk artists. There’s more room left for atmosphere in the production, and a more composed songwriting style. Lyrically it focuses more on the supernatural and spiritual, but without losing the storytelling or self destructive angst.

I’ve been at this one since about August of last year, with a lot of folk, ambient , and experimental on the rotation. There were a few guiding light albums I listened to and took inspiration from when making The Magician, Reversed like; Stranger In The Alps by Phoebe Bridgers, Our Endless Numbered Days by Iron & Wine, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel, Forever Howlong by Black Country, New Road, Tallahassee by The Mountain Goats, and Bleeds by Wednesday.

There will be three singles for this one; “Song Of The Summer” releasing January 26th, “Stolen Words” releasing February 18th, and “The Devil Is A Debt Collector” releasing March 4th. Not to immediately contradict myself, but “Song Of The Summer” is out now on Bandcamp actually, because Bandcamp is sick.

This was also the last full album recorded in my 4th studio space, lot’s of ambient noise and things flailing around in the laundry. I hope y’all will check it out!
