Probably only a few left of these left this year honestly (I tend to pause in December to write year-end content), feels weird. Man, life is, happening, so fast sometimes.

Yin Waster “Punk Drug Dealer” Oct 4
Deliciously messy and manic garage folk, or “Gas Station Folk” as they aptly call it. There is a bit of a wall of sound effect that I can’t say I’ve ever heard in folk before, and I thoroughly enjoy.
Yb. “TELL ME WHAT THE COST IS” Oct 13
Hell yeah more Yb. Yb. was one of my favorite artists last year with his debut EP “Blackphemy.” I love the way he fuses indie pop, dance, and indie rock. “TELL ME WHAT THE COST IS” is a wonderfully infectious example of that style.
The Native Howl “Can’t Sleep” Oct 18
Leonard Michigan’s own Thrash Grass pioneers bringing the energy with this wonderfully deranged loved song. I love the percussiveness of the guitar, which really allows the banjo to shine on melody.
Gary Link “Crazy Enough” Oct 20
Just in time for spooky season we’ve got an eerie and ethereal love song from alt-country singer-songwriter Gary Link. I particularly enjoy the soft and sweet instrumental break in this song, which allows the background piano to really stand out.
Same Eyes “Novella” Oct 20
Same Eyes never fails to deliver a Synth-Pop sound imported straight out of the 80’s and refined for now. I really love that deep bassline and the eeriness of the synth piano on this track.
Hey hey. I also released I teensly little EP called “Many Tentacled Tiny Monsters” with some slowcore fingerstyle instrumentals (well, mostly). You can check out the one non instrumental song on there “Creeping Corporeal Creature” below the above 5 songs on the playlist.
