Holy September! Time sure is happening folks.

Butterfly Chaser “another link in the chain” Sep 1
Disclaimer: this is my wife’s cousin and I think he’s a pretty neat dude so, obvious bias. I love the slow piano melody and the gradual build of the song. Also big fan of the lyrical focus compared to previous songs, this one’s a really lighter in the air kinda dealio.
June Henry “my wrath” Sep 13
Off a fun little anti-folk EP “flat earth romcom,” the opener has a wonderful building melancholy and I love how much of a journey it takes you on in just short of a minute and a half.
The Trenchies “Dead Man Dance” Sep 14
The Chicago scene creates such goddamn great music (especially folk-ish indie rock). I love how humor is used to drive in the songs point. “Make the dead man dance! make the dead man dance! make the dead man dance!”
dogsneeze “C.B. Discount” Sep 15
Punk. Hair metal? Lansing. That last part I am certain of. Anyways, I don’t understand the words but, “it’s nothing personal,” and I really like the high energy of this song anyways. I dig the heavy guitar chordage at the end.
Loops & Loops “walking through memories” Sep 15
This one’s off an album or released older material called “an audio memoir of sorts: part i” (so much lower caps this week) and caught my ear the most out of the pack. The central beat of this song is hypnotic, and I really like the way the vocals blend in and kind of play along with the existing melodies.
I’ve got a release this week as well, called “TV Head” (he’s got a TV for a head) by The Existential Dead. It’s, uhh, funky absurdist garage rock? Something like that, it’s on the HI 5 playlist so all you gotta do is not skip it, capish?
